Chelsea fans angered by club’s decision to sell Ake to Bournemouth

Chelsea fans are less than impressed with the club after it was announced that Nathan Ake has signed for Bournemouth on a permanent deal.

A move away for the young defender was always on the cards, but now his permanent departure has been finalised.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at the Vitality Stadium, making 10 appearances in the Premier League and contributing with three goals.

Ake, who has penned a long-term deal, joins Bournemouth for a club-record fee, thought to be in the region of £20m, reports The Telegraph.

Before the transfer was announced, The Independent claimed that the Blues have inserted a buy-back clause in the deal, suggesting that they have learned their lesson from selling Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne.

Neither club have confirmed if such a clause exists, but the immediate reaction of the Chelsea fans is one of disappointment.

They flooded on to Twitter to slam the club for offloading a promising player, and took particular aim at technical director Michael Emenalo.
